Sunny is a resilient 1-year-old, 30-pound Terrier mix with a heart of gold, yearning for a hero to call his own. His journey began tragically, abandoned in a harsh environment where he faced starvation and predators. He was the sole survivor, found terrified and needing to be trapped for his own safety. Though his past is shrouded in neglect and potential cruelty, Sunny is now thriving in a foster home, blossoming with love, comfort, and security. He's come so far, learning to trust through patience, gentle care, and plenty of treats. While he was initially wary of people, especially men, he's now opening up, discovering the joys of belly rubs and snuggling. He finds great comfort in the presence of other dogs and even the cats in his foster home, often sleeping with them. Sunny looks up to confident older dogs, learning from their lead. He is eager to find a true hero, someone dedicated to showing him he is safe and loved, day by day.
Ideal Home
Sunny would thrive in a quiet, patient, and understanding home where he can continue to bloom at his own pace. He needs a home with another friendly, confident dog to offer him companionship and learning opportunities. A calm, steady environment with a predictable routine is ideal for him. It's important that his new home does not have young children under 10 years old, as he needs a peaceful space to feel secure. He typically trusts women more easily, but is now showing acceptance of gentle males. He has bonded well with the cats in his foster home and enjoys their company.

Training & Support
Sunny is still learning to fully trust people, especially men, though he is making great progress with gentle approaches. He has learned to go potty outside and come when called. Continued patience, positive reinforcement, and a loving environment will help him continue to build confidence.

Sunny is currently fostered in Tennessee. He can be transported weekly up to the Northeast region.
