Hi, I'm Louise! I'm a 12-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, around 40 pounds, and I'm ready to trade in the hustle and bustle for some peaceful retirement years. I've had a full life, sharing my home with dogs, cats, and children, but I've come to realize that a calmer environment suits me best. I'm a true heeler at heart, and with a busy young child around, I've started to get a bit bossy and barky trying to herd them. My family understands that I'll thrive in a more tranquil setting. I'm an independent, protective, and generally quiet girl, though I will announce visitors at the door before settling back down. I still get around well for my age, enjoying leisurely walks, hikes, and a game of fetch. I walk nicely on a leash and know basic commands. I'm content to have free roam of the house and am comfortable being left alone for 5-6 hours.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a calm home without young children where I can enjoy a steady routine and quiet companionship. I would do best in a home without cats, as I'm tempted to chase them.

Ongoing Health

I am on a low-fat diet.

Training & Support

I can be nervous around other dogs and may bark or lunge when I see them on walks. I would benefit from an owner who understands the herding breed and can help me feel secure. I love food and will help myself if food is left out.
