BERNIE

BERNIE is a charming 4-year-old, 12-pound pup who loves to "talk" to his people with cute, funny sounds – but don't worry, he's not a yappy barker! He's a very healthy boy, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his shots. Bernie can be a little shy at first and takes a bit to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's a playful and loving companion. He enjoys playing fetch with his favorite toys and would do well with another dog of similar size. Bernie is smart and craves affection, wanting to be part of a family that can give him lots of love. He dreams of going on hikes, walks, car rides, and adventures with his forever family! He especially loves ear and chin scratches, and while he enjoys cuddling and being petted, he likes to initiate it on his own terms. Bernie is happy to sleep near you, sometimes even on the bed. He's house-trained and crate-trained for up to 4 hours, and he knows how to use a doggy door.

Bernie would thrive in a loving home without young children. He'd also be a great fit for active retired individuals. He needs a family that can offer him plenty of attention and affection, and he enjoys being included in daily activities.
