LOTUS*

Lotus, formerly known as Lola, is a sweet and smart dog who was rescued after suffering two broken legs, likely from being hit by a car. She was initially very nervous and anxious at the shelter, but in a foster home, her true personality has blossomed. She adores belly rubs, short walks, and any attention from her humans. Lotus has shown a gentle nature with resident cats, even sharing gentle nose touches, and has been a welcoming host to visiting dogs. She is a quick learner, already understanding cues to wait before entering, eating, and respecting personal space during mealtimes. Lotus is also easy to leash and remains calm when needing to be muzzled for vet visits. She is a sweetheart with a huge heart, and with continued love and care, she has the potential for a full and active life.

Ongoing Health

Lotus is currently healing from two broken legs and requires weekly cast changes. Her bones are healing slowly, and her mobility is limited to short walks at this stage. The long-term outcome for her legs will depend on continued care and a supportive environment.

Training & Support

Lotus is a smart and eager-to-please dog who has quickly learned to wait before entering, eating, and respecting space. She is easy to handle on leash and with muzzling for vet visits. She will need continued patience and positive reinforcement as she heals and further develops.
