Wanda is a beautiful, approximately 2-3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who weighs around 38 lbs. She was found wandering the streets, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, clearly searching for safety and sustenance. Despite her rough start, Wanda has blossomed into an active, playful, social, and incredibly loving girl! She truly enjoys her time with people and has an energetic spirit.
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in a home with an experienced family who understands her breed. A securely fenced backyard is a must for her to safely explore and play. She needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and daily walks. Ideal adopters will have an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals, understanding their journey requires patience, protection, and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, as is a high tolerance and patience for a rescued pup. Wanda is NOT social with big dogs and it is preferred she be the only dog in the home, though she has been fine with smaller dogs in the past. She is NOT house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has undergone an extensive health protocol to ensure she's ready for her forever home. This includes being spayed/neutered, receiving two DHPPI vaccines, a Rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. She has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm with a certificate. Her monthly preventive protection includes Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Wanda is not house-trained and will require dedicated effort and patience to learn. The rescue team understands that with so many animals needing care, house-training every single one is an impossible task. They emphasize that owners should be prepared to provide ongoing education and support.

- A virtual meet and greet will be arranged with you, Wanda, and her foster family.
- If all parties agree it's a good fit, an adoption contract will be provided, potentially including a trial adoption period.
Transportation
Wanda is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast as part of our cross-country transport program. Transport is available to the adopter's home address. The transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, covers the service by a transport company.
