Gigi is a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who weighs about 40 lbs. She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, and had a very rough start. After being rescued, she unfortunately experienced some serious health complications during her spay surgery, requiring hospitalization and a long recovery. Despite these challenges, Gigi is a fighter and has come through it all with immense gratitude and love to give. She is described as friendly, playful, loyal, gentle, and incredibly affectionate. Gigi is also smart, curious, brave, and has a protective, yet mellow and dignified nature. She loves kisses and is a joyful, caring, and devoted companion who is eager to please and incredibly snuggly.
Ideal Home
Gigi would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard and enjoy outdoor activities. It's important that potential adopters are experienced with the Staffordshire Terrier breed and have an understanding of the unique needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Patience and tolerance are key, as Gigi is a rescue who is still learning and may need additional support and education. She is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Gigi is spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She is dewormed and tested negative for heartworm, with monthly preventive treatment (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She also received a health certificate and has a vaccine booklet. Due to her past health complications, it's important to be aware of her history.
Training & Support
Gigi is not house-trained, and potential adopters should be prepared to work on this with patience and consistency. As a rescue, she benefits greatly from adopters with experience in dog behavior and training. She needs a family that can provide her with a high level of tolerance and patience as she continues to learn and grow.

Transportation
Gigi is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Transport to the adopter's home address is available for an additional fee.
