Puppy Poppy

Meet Puppy Poppy! This adorable 8-week-old Retriever mix is a bundle of joy and energy, ready to leave her puppy pile in Puerto Rico and find her forever home in the DC area. Poppy loves to play with toys, zoom around, and shower her favorite humans with snuggles. She's eager to explore new neighborhoods on walks and make lots of doggie friends along the way. Poppy is also ready to show off her smarts in a puppy obedience class!

Ideal Home

Poppy is looking for a home that will give her plenty of opportunities to play and get her zoomies out, followed by lots of snuggles. She'd love to make doggie friends and explore her new neighborhood on walks. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements for multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day, as puppies under 6 months need frequent attention.

Ongoing Health

Poppy has received age-appropriate vaccinations but may not be fully vaccinated. It is the adopter's responsibility to ensure she receives all remaining puppy vaccines on schedule. Until fully vaccinated, puppies are at a higher risk for illness. Poppy has not yet been spayed or neutered, and this must be completed by November 11, 2026, as per the adoption contract. A spay/neuter deposit is available if you would like to use one of our low-cost partner vets.

Training & Support

Poppy will need to work on her house training and attend obedience school to help her grow into a well-socialized dog.
