About Brownie

Brownie is a 4-year-old male Labrador mix, weighing about 35 lbs. He was rescued as a puppy and is now ready to find his forever home. He loves people, enjoys visitors, seeks attention, hugs, and pets, and is very playful. Brownie has a funny fascination with water and loves to play with it whenever he can. He spent 4 years in a shelter and has never had a walk. With exercise, structure, patience, and love, he could thrive in a home environment.

Ideal Home

Brownie would do best in a home with a fenced backyard. He needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has experience with dog behavior and training, or is willing to hire a trainer. Families should have high tolerance and patience for rescued animals.

Ongoing Health

Brownie was rescued as a puppy after suffering from severe mange, which left him with some scars and patches of white fur. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been spayed/neutered. He has a negative heartworm test and is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Brownie is very energetic and anxious. He loves to chew and has worn teeth from gnawing on things. He knows how to use a crate but becomes very stressed when confined. He does not walk on a leash yet and can be anxious during transport. He is not house-trained. Patience and understanding are crucial for his adjustment period, as he may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.
