Rusty

Meet Rusty! Rusty is a neutered Akita mix, estimated to be around 7 years old and weighing about 50lbs. He spent over two years in a shelter, but is now happily enjoying life with his foster family, learning what it's like to be a pampered pet. He's crate trained, well-behaved in the house, and discovering the joys of toys and walks. Rusty is a loving "Velcro dog" who enjoys belly rubs, head scratches, and hugs, always by his people's side. He gets along well with other dogs after quiet introductions and is good with people. While he hasn't met cats yet, he's ready to find his forever home and show them how good life can be!

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in a home with a fenced yard.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. He has also been heartworm tested and microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty is already crate trained and house-trained. He is learning to play with toys and enjoys walks.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All dogs from Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped.
• A fenced yard is required for adoption.
• Adoptions are held at our Adoption Center inside Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift on Saturdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
• Please complete your adoption application in advance so our volunteers have time to screen and contact potential adopters.
• Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, and qualifications are based on the best fit for each individual pet.
• A volunteer will contact you if you are selected for a meet with an adoptable pet. Final approval is always made in person.

Transportation

Rusty is located at Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. For adult dogs, the adoption radius is within a two-hour drive of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue.
