About Bruce

Hi, I'm Bruce! I'm about 3 years old, and if you're looking for a daily dose of pure happiness, I'm your guy. Before coming to Arctic Rescue, I spent 205 days in a shelter. Everyone thought I'd find a home quickly—a dog who's great with dogs, cats, kids, and just about everyone he meets surely wouldn't have to wait long. But here I am, still hoping someone will choose me. My foster family calls me a total sweetie pie because all I really want is to be close to my people. Whether we're snuggled on the couch, heading out for a walk, or hopping in the car to run errands, I'm happiest just being included. I'm wonderful on a leash, love car rides, and I'm always up for an adventure. Afterward, I'm perfectly content to settle down with a good chew bone and relax by your side or snuggle up on your lap for a few extra loves. I'm a smart boy, too! I've been working with my trainer on keeping all four paws on the ground when I get excited to meet new friends, and I'm making great progress every day. I get along with every dog and person I meet, and I’m even a fan of cats! Six-teen months is a long time to wait. I know my person is out there somewhere, and I can't wait for the day they look at me and say, "That's my dog."

Ideal Home

Northern Breeds typically have higher exercise, training, and care requirements than others. We recommend thoroughly researching the breed before pursuing adoption, if you do not have prior experience.

Ongoing Health

A few months ago, my foster noticed I was moving a little stiffly, and I was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia. The good news is I'm doing great on a simple monthly injection! I'm still hiking, playing, exploring, and enjoying life just like always. I'll simply need a family who will help me stay healthy with routine veterinary care so I can keep living my best life.
