Pop

Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur with adorable white markings on my nose, and I am SO happy all the time! I love to snuggle, especially sleeping near the warmth of the oven. I also have a special love for the snow! My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, suggesting I might have some Border Collie in my lineage. I came from New Mexico with my brother and sister when I was very young.

I am a proud potty-trained pup and will let you know when I need to go out by waiting by the door. I'm also kennel-trained, but I have to admit, I'm not a fan of being confined. I can escape and tend to bark when inside, though I don't cause any destruction when left alone. I just prefer not to be crated. At night, I love to sleep as close to my foster mom as possible to stay warm! I know "sit," "stay," "wait," and "come," and I'm working on "down" and "off."

I am truly obsessed with food, especially peanut butter and yogurt! While I don't get table scraps, I receive plenty of tasty treats and will do almost anything for them. I can be a little overzealous when taking treats, but with a "sit" and "gentle" command from my foster mom, I'm diligently learning to be more delicate. I live with a wonderful 10-year-old foster sister and have met her friends. I can be a little shy and barky when meeting new people, especially children, as I take a moment to warm up. I mean no harm, and after a few minutes, I become very affectionate and love to give kisses! A family with older, dog-savvy kids would be ideal for me. I'm not sure what cats are, but I absolutely adore other dogs! I'm my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog; he needs to be beside me at all times. I love to play with my almost two-year-old, 55-lb foster sister, engaging in games of tug, keep-away, and chase daily. My almost four-year-old, 96-lb foster brother tolerates my playful nudges, but I'm learning to be gentle with him, especially as he recovers from surgery. My favorite activities with other dogs include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also enjoy neighborhood walks.

I am smart and eager to learn new things! My dream is to be friends with everyone, though I do take my time warming up. I love to snuggle and be loved. I'm looking for adventure and exploration and would make a fantastic hiking buddy and traveling companion. Most importantly, I want to be with my people, have a dog friend, and live the best life possible. A dream day for me would involve a morning walk, a good breakfast, lots of playtime, naps, a tasty snack, more playtime, another nap, dinner, more playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before bed. I'm most like Puff the Magic Dragon because my foster mom made up her own lyrics to the song for me! My favorite toys include stuffies and hard plastic chew toys, and anything for a good game of tug. I enjoy playing as much as possible, with long naps in between. What makes my body wiggle and my tail wag harder than anything is when my people come home and take me out of the kennel – it's time to party!

Ideal Home

My dream forever family would include older kids, another dog, and an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my person is a must! I deserve a wonderful family that will continue to work with me on my quirks and celebrate my amazingness every day!
