Rebel and his best friend Bear are two adorable senior souls looking for a peaceful retirement home. They come as a bonded pair, deeply connected and comfortable with each other, and their adoption fee will be reduced to help them find their forever family.

Rebel is a gentle spirit who has experienced a recent heartbreaking change in his life. He's now quietly hoping for a simple life filled with a safe lap, a soft bed, and a loving human to cherish him. He enjoys peaceful snoozing in his cozy playpen and basking in the sunshine or on a warm lap. Rebel is learning to communicate his needs by pacing at the door and has been doing a great job with his potty schedule.

Ideal Home

Rebel would be happiest in a calm, patient home. A fenced yard would help him feel more secure as he's still gaining confidence with his harness walks. He's doing well with small female dogs and is learning to play with a large, submissive male dog. Children and cats are unknowns. He'd do best with someone who is home most of the time, or a fellow senior looking for a soothing companion.

Ongoing Health

Rebel is a senior dog, and while he's healthy, it's important to be aware that age-related changes can occur.

Training & Support

Rebel is learning to walk with a harness and needs a little more encouragement to build his confidence. He is generally quiet, only using his voice to ask for something he needs. He is low-energy and easy to love.

Rebel and Bear are located in the Raleigh, NC area. We prefer applicants in this region as our fosters deliver the dogs to their new homes. Medical care during a trial period is provided by vets in the Raleigh area.
