Meet Opal, a regal hound queen who is perfection in hound form! She's about 8 years young and weighs around 35-40lbs. Opal might be a little shy when you first meet her, but once she settles in, she blossoms into a loving and affectionate companion. Her favorite pastimes include lounging on the couch or bed, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood critters.

Ideal Home

Opal would thrive in a calm home where she can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. While she does well with gentle toddlers, she prefers calmer, older children who understand her need for quiet time. She's not a fan of crates and is not destructive when left alone, making her a great companion for someone who works from home or is around frequently.

Ongoing Health

Opal is currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment, a plan recommended by HERO due to her age and size. This doesn't stop her from enjoying sunny days in the yard or short romps with other dogs. As a senior lady, she prefers relaxing and receiving affection over vigorous play.

Training & Support

Opal is a remarkably well-behaved hound, though she can get a little enthusiastic about food and treats, letting her hound instincts shine! She truly shines as an only dog, as she prefers her own space.
