About SPRIGGS
Spriggs is an incredibly sweet, affectionate young dog who thrives on human companionship. He loves being part of the action and is happiest when included in everyday family life. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, tackling household chores, or moving from room to room, Spriggs enjoys staying close and seeing what everyone is up to. He is very social and enjoys meeting new people, including children. His enthusiasm can sometimes show up as jumping when greeting people, but it comes from excitement and friendliness. Spriggs is eager to make friends wherever he goes. He is a true cuddle bug who loves affection, attention, and spending time with his people. For a family looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants to be involved in daily life, Spriggs is an excellent match. Spriggs has done exceptionally well with other dogs. During his staycation, he played daily with foster’s dog as well as several neighborhood dogs and consistently demonstrated friendly, appropriate play behavior. He has been successful with both male and female dogs. He is not food aggressive and is respectful of other dogs’ boundaries, even around food.
Ideal Home
Spriggs is active, playful, and full of fun young-dog energy. He loves running, playing with other dogs, and enjoying zoomies around the house or yard. Regular exercise, playtime, and enrichment help him stay happy, balanced, and at his best.
Ongoing Health
No ongoing health concerns are noted.
Training & Support
Training sponsorship is available for an adopter to help address reactivity! Spriggs already knows "sit" and is a very quick learner. He responds well to positive reinforcement and adapts to routines quickly. He is still polishing his leash manners and may pull when excited, especially if he spots people, dogs, or something interesting. He is curious and observant, which can make him easily distracted, but once engaged, he learns quickly and enjoys training. Spriggs is largely potty trained and continues to make progress with consistency and routine. If he has had a lot of water, he may need more frequent potty breaks and is still building longer hold times. He does a great job communicating when he needs to go outside, often seeking attention or giving signals that he needs a bathroom break. Paying attention to these cues will help set him up for continued success and prevent accidents. Spriggs has done very well with crate training. While he may not always rush into the crate on his own, he has made excellent progress and settles quickly once inside. He remains quiet throughout the night and during the workday and does not bark, whine, or create disturbances while crated. He has had no accidents in the crate. As with many young dogs, he typically benefits from a potty break shortly after being let out.
