JJ Ryder is a solid, athletic, and loyal companion who's ready for adventure and then ready to crash hard. This handsome guy is about 4 years old and weighs around 75 lbs. He's the kind of dog that naturally looks right walking by your side, eager for whatever life throws his way. JJ lives for outdoor fun, from long hikes and fetch marathons to swimming and boat rides. Tennis balls are a must, and he knows that when shoes come out, it's time for action! After a day of excitement, he's equally happy to relax, snuggle on the couch, or quietly observe. JJ connects quickly with men, responding well to calm, confident leadership and structure. He's intelligent, calm, and attentive, already knowing a good set of commands, and is gentle-lead trained. While he enjoys the company of his foster family, he's especially bonded with the male figure and patiently waits for him. JJ is unfazed by loud noises like trucks, motorcycles, thunder, and fireworks, and will alert you to new people or dogs before settling down. He looks to his person for guidance and confidence on all his adventures.

Ideal Home

JJ Ryder would do best in an adult-only home or one with calm older teens. Due to his prey drive, a home without cats is ideal.

Training & Support

JJ Ryder is fully potty trained and crate trained, and can free-roam without issue. He is respectful of space, not destructive, doesn't resource guard, and sleeps quietly through the night. He is affectionate without being pushy, and loyal without being clingy.

Transporation

JJ Ryder is currently located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport service, traveling to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, and Canada. Canadian adopters will need to pick up their pet in Bellingham, WA, or Brattleboro, VT.
