Elphie

Hi, I'm Elphie! My foster mom named me after a character from the musical Wicked, and just like my namesake, people sometimes judge me based on my looks. I'm a black dog, and sadly, black dogs like me can sometimes take a little longer to find our forever homes. But my foster mom assures me I'm the best girl! I'm super social and love spending time with people and other dogs. I also get along great with the little humans they call kids.

I'm quite the adventurer and love going on outings with my foster mom. We've been to places like Lowe's and Dick's Sporting Goods, and I'm even brave enough to ride the escalator! I'm an excellent car rider and have my very own car seat, so I can have a great view from the front. When I'm not exploring, I enjoy playing in the yard, chewing on sticks or toys, and soaking up the sun. My foster sister, Stormie, taught me how enjoyable sunbathing can be – it's definitely more fun than those water baths! I'm already a pro at going outside to do my business and am an expert at using the doggy door. I can't wait to find my forever family to share all my adventures with. Could that be you?
