Riley is a beautiful Boxer/Bully mix with a sleek white coat and a charming black patch over her right eye. She's an adult female, estimated to be born in October 2017, and weighs around 50lbs. Riley arrived as a stray and was brought into our care to find her forever home. She's a loving sweetheart who adores people and is quite well-balanced, sitting politely when asked and enjoying a good game of fetch. While she can be a little strong on the leash, she responds well to redirection and a command to sit. She's curious and loves to snuggle up for full-body hugs, taking treats very gently. Riley is content with walks and adventures but equally happy to relax by her human's side. She's also a patient "model" for our volunteer orientations, understanding the importance of waiting for her walk and ensuring safety. Riley also enjoys car rides and has experienced outings to local stores, behaving like an angel during these excursions.
Ideal Home
Riley would thrive in a home where she is the only pet, with a human who is willing to work on reintroducing her to other dogs slowly. She loves older children (12 and up) who can appreciate her affectionate nature. Cats are not recommended due to her strong chase instinct. A fenced yard is a must for her to run and play.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are noted in her history.
Training & Support
Riley can be strong on the leash and may pull, but she responds well to redirection and commands. She needs a strong human who can help her learn to walk without pulling. Her reactivity to other dogs has increased over time, so patience and a gradual reintroduction to canine companionship will be key.
