CHILI

Chili is a charming and social young boy who thrives on human companionship and enjoys leisurely walks. While he can get a bit overstimulated and mouthy in the unpredictable shelter environment, his true, relaxed self emerges in calmer settings. His foster parent describes him as an easy-going gentleman who respects other dogs' space and is incredibly gentle when taking treats. Chili loves car rides, knows basic commands like sit and shake, and is eager to learn new tricks. He's also quite the character, making funny gurgles and sighs while relaxing. This sweet boy is ready to leave the shelter and find his forever home where he can decompress and truly shine.

Chili would do best in a home that understands his need for time to decompress and adjust to a new environment.

Ongoing Health

Chili has dealt with several health issues, including inflamed feet with a secondary infection, an upper respiratory infection, and multiple dermal masses (suspected to be benign). He has been on an oral medication, foot spray, and requires an ongoing hypoallergenic diet. He will need continued monitoring and potential rechecks.

Training & Support

In the shelter environment, Chili has shown a tendency towards jumpy and mouthy behavior when overly excited, including grabbing at clothing. He has also been stressed by the shelter's chaotic nature. His foster parent noted he walks well on leash and is gentle with treats. He knows how to sit, shake, and turn around and would enjoy learning more.
