Meet Kyle! This handsome 1-year-old, 95lb mixed breed is a true testament to resilience and love. Despite a past leg injury, Kyle bounces back with an incredible spirit, his happy and goofy personality shining through. He's a big love bug who truly thrives on closeness with his people. Kyle is a fan of puzzle toys, frozen Kongs, backyard adventures, and, of course, treats – his absolute favorite! He may be a substantial boy, but he genuinely believes he's a lap dog, always ready for a cuddle session or a nap after a day of play.
Ideal Home
Kyle would be happiest in a suburban or rural setting where life is a bit calmer, as busy city environments can be overwhelming for him. He's looking for a home with respectful, dog-savvy children who understand he's a big, enthusiastic dog. As he hasn't been tested with cats, a cat-free home is recommended.
Ongoing Health
Kyle had previous trauma to his left hind stifle joint, which led to mild osteoarthritis and a luxating patella. He underwent a TPLO surgery and patella repair on February 20th. He's been diligently doing routine exercises to rebuild muscle strength, and this regimen should continue post-adoption. Reference photos for these exercises will be provided.
Training & Support
Kyle is friendly and enthusiastic with everyone he meets, but he's still learning that not every greeting involves jumping. He can be reactive towards unfamiliar dogs on leash, but with consistency and ongoing training, he's making great progress. He is fully house-trained, has excellent house manners, and is trusted to roam freely. He knows basic commands like "sit," "shake paw," and "wait," and his love for treats makes him a motivated learner. He is also gaining confidence when left alone for longer periods.
