BOOTS

Estimated to be around 10 years old, Mr. Boots is a distinguished gentleman who endured a difficult past, surviving outdoors for nearly six months after escaping his previous home. Despite his hardships, he remains gentle, trusting, and hopeful. He is a calm and laid-back companion who enjoys peace, routine, and simply being near his people. Boots coexists nicely with other dogs his size but cannot live with cats or very small dogs due to his prey drive and a lack of understanding of his own size.

Ideal Home

Boots is looking for a calm, stable home with someone who understands senior or special-needs dogs. He needs a home without cats or very small dogs and a family willing to offer comfort, patience, and companionship. He desires peace over adventures or endless activity.

Ongoing Health

Boots is considered special needs due to severe dental and gum disease and chronic respiratory/tracheal concerns causing a persistent cough. He will require ongoing medical monitoring and supportive care. Extensive procedures may not be safe for him at this time, but Stella’s Sanctuary will continue to support his care financially.

Training & Support

Boots is house-trained and leash-trained. He is calm and laid back in the home and shows no food or toy aggression.
