Pumpkin Lumpkin is a delightful two-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix with a personality as sweet as melted marshmallow. She's a low-maintenance lady who loves to relax, whether it's on the couch, in a comfy dog bed, or simply basking in the sunshine. Pumpkin is incredibly tolerant and affectionate, greeting everyone with gentle enthusiasm and a full-body wag. She's polite and unproblematic with other dogs, preferring a calm coexistence to boisterous play. She has also shown to be good with calm, dog-savvy cats. While she hasn't been officially tested with children, her gentle and easygoing nature suggests she could be a wonderful family dog. Pumpkin is currently on a wellness journey to manage some extra fluff, but she still enjoys leisurely strolls and sniffing around.
Ideal Home
Pumpkin would thrive in a home that embraces a slower pace of life, with plenty of opportunities for leisurely walks and comfy naps. She would do well as a spoiled solo princess or with another respectful, lower-energy dog. A calm cat companion who enjoys peaceful coexistence would also be a good fit. A house with a yard or a hound-friendly apartment would be ideal, as she can occasionally be vocal.
Ongoing Health
Pumpkin is currently working on managing her weight as she is carrying some extra fluff. She can get tired quickly due to this, but it does not affect her happy disposition.
Training & Support
Pumpkin walks beautifully on leash and is described as an incredibly easy dog to have in the home. She is not demanding or chaotic, and her foster mother notes she is happiest just existing peacefully near her people. Her trainer has advised that snacks should be given in moderation.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA certified transport system with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
