Cumberbatch, or "CB" as he's affectionately known, is a big, lovable hunk with a heart as huge as his personality! This handsome boy has come a long way since arriving in foster care underweight and in rough shape, but with love, care, and a full belly, he's blossoming into the happy, affectionate dog he was always meant to be. Every day, you can see his confidence growing and his sweet, goofy personality shining through. CB is the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle bug. He loves to romp around the yard, toss around his favorite toys, and soak up all the attention he can get, including belly rubs! He's incredibly social with people and truly believes there are no strangers, just friends he hasn't met yet. Despite his size and enthusiasm, he also knows when it's time to settle down and will happily snuggle up beside you or try to climb right into your lap! He's food-motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you. His daily routine is already well established; he's house trained, crate trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. He enjoys a mix of walks and yard playtime throughout the day, along with his twice-daily meals and favorite enrichment treats like frozen Kongs filled with goodies. While he currently roams freely in his foster's basement during the day, he's comfortable in his crate and settles nicely when it's time to rest.
Ideal Home
Cumberbatch's ideal home is an active one with adults or older children who can match his energy and continue guiding him as he grows. A securely fenced yard (5–6 ft) is a must so he can safely run and play. He would do best as the only pet or possibly with a confident, high-energy female dog who enjoys a more rowdy play style, with slow, thoughtful introductions being key. Because of his prey drive, a home without cats or small animals will be the best fit.
Ongoing Health
Cumberbatch will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
Training & Support
As a young, strong, and energetic guy, Cumberbatch is still learning some of the basics, like polishing up his leash manners and building confidence with things like car rides. He can be a little unsure in new situations, but he's making steady progress with positive guidance. He also has a playful, “mouthy” way of showing affection (think gentle nibble kisses), and he responds well to clear, consistent redirection as he continues to learn his manners.
