About Nova Jean D11502
Nova Jean is a beautiful brindle girl with a heart that fills a home almost immediately. Once a little apprehensive in her first days, she has blossomed quickly in foster care. Within a week, she settled in, began eating well, sleeps peacefully through the night, and rides comfortably in the car. Now she shows her true personality: sweet, social, and deeply devoted to her people. Nova Jean forms strong bonds and is especially content when she knows her humans are nearby. She's not clingy in an overwhelming way, but she does love to quietly keep you in sight, lounging in the backyard while you garden, resting nearby while you relax, or occasionally stopping by for gentle pets before settling back into her own space. She is independent in the most polite, easygoing way. Every morning starts with excitement for her first walk of the day. Nova Jean enjoys at least two daily walks and settles well afterward, happily napping between outings and recharging for the next adventure. She is also a joyful, enthusiastic companion on car rides and handles travel with ease. Nova Jean is very people-focused and greets everyone with a wagging tail and a friendly, jolly spirit. She loves attention and is always happy to engage, play, or simply receive affection. With other dogs, she is generally social and responsive, but sensitive to energy. Calm, polite dogs tend to bring out her best manners, while more intense or reactive dogs can trigger barking in return. With proper introductions and guidance, she continues to learn and improve her dog-to-dog communication. One of Nova Jean's favorite things is playtime. She loves squeaky durable toys, jumbler balls, fetch, and even a good game of keep-away. She can entertain herself in the yard watching the world go by or happily engage with her people in a game. She is also quite thoughtful, often resting her head on the couch as if politely asking for permission or hoping a treat might appear.
Ideal Home
Nova Jean is looking for an adult-only home that will continue her training, support her growth, and appreciate the loyal, wonderful companion she already is.
Ongoing Health
Nova Jean has a sensitive history and may cower around large, unexpected movements, but she responds beautifully to calm, consistent care and trust-building.
Training & Support
Nova Jean is fully house-trained and reliably holds it overnight for 8+ hours. She knows commands like "sit," "come," and "no," and shows a clear desire to understand her people. She is very trainable, though she is still polishing her leash skills, as squirrels and neighborhood excitement can be hard to resist. Crates are not her favorite, and she does best without soft bedding inside them. However, she does settle after a short adjustment period. She has also shown some toy guarding tendencies with her favorite squeaky balls and is still working on reliably "dropping" items during play, which her future family should continue to gently reinforce.
