Huckleberry

Huckleberry is a handsome Goldendoodle, ready for his amazing new life! He arrived at the shelter in rough shape, underweight, matted, and sad. Now, he's the opposite – a happy, healthy boy eager to find his forever family. Huck loves everyone and craves companionship, sometimes showing his affection a bit too exuberantly by climbing counters, jumping on benches, and giving big hugs! We're working with him on his manners and his energetic nature, which can occasionally be a challenge. He'll need continued training to become a well-mannered canine citizen, especially with leash walking and basic commands.

Ideal Home

Huckleberry needs an adult-only home. He gets overly excited around other dogs, so he would likely do best as a solo pet for now. We are working on helping him become calmer around other dogs, as he seems to really want to make friends. His reaction to cats and other small animals is currently unknown.

Ongoing Health

We are currently awaiting lab results for Huckleberry. He recently had a large lump removed from his shoulder.

Training & Support

Huckleberry is working on his manners and needs continued positive reinforcement training, especially with leash manners and basic commands, to help manage his exuberance.
