KINGSTON

Kingston is about a year and a half old and came to us as a stray in February. He’s a sweet, high-energy boy who is struggling in the shelter environment. When he's out of his kennel, he loves belly rubs, playing with toys, and getting treats. Kingston was briefly adopted, and the adopter noted that he was a rough player and mouthy, but would also sometimes growl at people he didn’t know. They recommended that he find an active home, and we think breed experience would be a plus. Kingston has done well with dogs his size but can get overwhelmed by too rough or rowdy play. He's learning some basic skills and manners with our volunteers and has proven to be eager to learn. We are urgently seeking placement with a highly qualified adopter or rescue partner who can safely manage this dog in a home environment.

Ideal Home

Kingston would thrive in an active home, possibly with someone interested in dog sports. Breed experience would be a plus. He has done well with dogs his size but can get overwhelmed by too rough or rowdy play.

Ongoing Health

Kingston recently developed a limp, likely from his energetic movements in his kennel. He has also experienced bloody paws and intermittent diarrhea.

Training & Support

Kingston can be a rough player and mouthy. He has also shown a tendency to growl at unfamiliar people. He is eager to learn and is working on basic skills and manners with volunteers.
