Little Miss Squirrel is a bright-eyed, three-year-old Cattle Dog mix with a thoughtful intelligence. When she smiles, it’s like the sun is coming out! Squirrel would love to live with an individual or a couple for whom she can provide nighttime cuddles and daytime window security services. She has completed several Dog Training classes and one of her favorite games is 15-minute "Training" sessions to learn anything new, from agility commands to tricks, which she learns quickly. Squirrel loves to snuggle, play her brain games, and snooze next to her people while they work. Although she is young, Squirrel is very calm and somewhat low energy. She loves car rides and long walks, and she is great at the vet's office, grooming, and nail trims.
Ideal Home
Squirrel's Cattle Dog genes show in her willingness to enforce compliance with household rules. While many humans find this endearing, few dogs find it a compatible lifestyle, and small children may not want her as a governess. Her cat-friendliness is uncertain at this time, as neighborhood cats have thought it fun to walk the top of the fence and torment her.
Ongoing Health
Squirrel's adoption fee of $275 includes spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm testing (and treatment if positive), and microchipping.
Training & Support
Squirrel has completed several Dog Training classes and excels at learning new commands and tricks. She enjoys "Training" sessions and playing brain games, which provide excellent mental stimulation. As a German Shepherd mix, she benefits from consistent leadership, structure, plenty of activity, and mental stimulation. If you are new to herding breeds, please research the breed to ensure it's a good fit for your lifestyle and be prepared for the time and financial commitment required.
