Maya is a beautiful 1-year-old Labrador Creole mix who weighs about 30 lbs. She was rescued in March 2024 and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Maya is a loving, intelligent, and playful girl who is eager to please. She’s energetic and sociable with people of all ages, including children and other dogs. Maya enjoys playtime, walks, and simply cuddling up for affection. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but her sweet nature quickly shines through, and she melts into your arms once she feels comfortable. She’s also dog and cat friendly! Maya is a very affectionate, docile, and loyal companion with a joyful and funny personality. She’s already crate and leash trained, which is a great head start! Maya was rescued as a newborn puppy along with her six siblings.
Ideal Home
Maya would thrive in a home with homeowners who have a fenced backyard. She needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has an open mind about the unique needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Prior experience with dog behavior and training, along with a high degree of patience and tolerance, are essential for success with Maya.
Ongoing Health
Maya has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, receiving 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. She has been dewormed and microchipped. Maya also tested negative for heartworm and has a 4DX test certificate. She is on monthly preventive treatment with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are also included.
Training & Support
Please note that rescued animals may require an adjustment period. Maya is not house-trained, and potential adopters should be prepared for this. Patience and understanding are crucial as she settles into her new environment.

- A trial adoption period will follow, with ongoing communication with our team.
The adoption fee, finalized before transport, covers spay/neuter, all vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), deworming, one month of preventive treatment (Nexgard Spectra), and a health certificate.
Transportation
Maya is currently in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transport to the adopter's home address is available for a fee of $400.00, which will be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
