Lucas - Nice Boy - Foster Needed

Lucas was found abandoned near Lucas Oil Stadium, a gentle soul left behind but found kindness from those in the area who shared their food and offered him shelter. It took patience and delicious treats to gain his trust and get him leashed, and it seems a fellow Great Pyrenees may have helped seal the deal! This sweet boy is estimated to be 5-6 years old and is looking for a patient and loving home to blossom. Once he feels secure, Lucas is a devoted companion who thrives on attention. He's also a fan of other dogs and would be happiest with a canine friend to share his days.

Ideal Home

Lucas would do best in a calm, adult-only home where he can learn to be a confident house dog. A securely fenced yard is a must, as this breed is known to roam and cannot be trusted off-leash. Invisible fencing is not suitable for Great Pyrenees.

Ongoing Health

Lucas is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has no known health conditions at this time.

Training & Support

Lucas is a Great Pyrenees, a breed known for their independent thinking. We recommend obedience training to help build a strong bond and ensure he's a well-behaved companion. He travels well in vehicles.

• Applicants must be over 25 years old.
• Homeowners are required.
• Resident pets must be up-to-date on vaccines and sterilized.
• A good history of veterinary care for resident pets for the past two years is required.
• Proof of year-round heartworm preventative for resident dogs must be provided.
• A $100 non-refundable deposit is required prior to taking the dog home.
• Any veterinary expenses incurred during the two-week trial period are the adopter's responsibility unless pre-approved by our organization.
• The adoption fee is $300.
