At just 1 year old and under 30 pounds, Dawson is the perfect compact-sized blue heeler with a naturally stumpy tail and a personality that makes people fall in love. This handsome boy came to us from Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he was at risk of euthanasia before making his way to North Carolina for a second chance. And what a second chance it has been — because Dawson has absolutely blossomed. Gone is the shy, uncertain pup from his early days. Dawson is friendly, social, playful, and genuinely enjoys being around people and other dogs. He loves attention, likes to be part of the action, and has proven himself to be an easy, happy companion who fits naturally into everyday life. He’s the kind of dog who can be playful and fun one minute and happily settle beside you the next. Dawson enjoys companionship, welcomes affection, and has a sweet, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to have around.
