Joplin is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu mix who is looking for his forever home. He was released from a breeder and has a lot of love and life left to give. Joplin is a toy enthusiast who loves to chase and shake his toys, providing endless entertainment. He's a fluffy and affectionate boy, tipping the scales at around 15 pounds. Joplin sleeps soundly through the night and enjoys sleeping on the bed, though he needs a little help to hop up. He's doing very well with house training, with only occasional accidents. While he loves walks and is good on the leash, he's not a fan of having his harness and leash put on. He navigates a few steps to get to his fenced yard but hasn't mastered a full flight of stairs yet. Joplin thrives on companionship and likes to stay close to his people. He greets his foster mom with a wagging tail and a happy face. Joplin loves other dogs and would be happiest in a home with a canine friend, but he'd also do well if his humans are home often. He's friendly with other dogs and people he meets. His compatibility with cats is unknown, but he might do well with them. Joplin is a big fan of food and treats, and he's a great traveler, happy to go on adventures in the car. He has a goofy and adorable habit of chasing his tail when he spots it. Joplin would be happiest in a home with another dog. He would also be okay as a solo dog if his forever humans are home most of the time. Families with children under the age of six are not a good fit for Joplin.
