Penny

Meet Penny, a loving 2-year-old, 62-pound Shepherd/Husky mix with a bright spirit and playful heart. She is affectionate, outgoing, smart, and happiest when she can stay active while close to her people. Penny is currently in foster care in San Antonio, Texas.

Penny enjoys canine friends who match her playful energy and size. She does best with confident medium-to-large dogs and needs structure during play. She has shown prey-driven behavior toward cats outdoors, so a cat-free home is recommended. Although she has been around toddlers and older children, her exuberance and herding instincts make a home with older teens or adults the best fit.

Penny is affectionate, cuddly, and eager to bond deeply with her people. She may flinch and needs calm, consistent reassurance. She can guard food, toys, and space around other dogs, so her foster separates her during meals and high-value treats.
