Sparco, also known as Sparky, is a shy but incredibly loving adult male dog who is ready to find his forever family. While he can be a bit timid at first, with patience and time, he blossoms into a devoted companion. He absolutely adores people and loves to cuddle up close. Sparco is also great with children of all ages, including babies, making him a wonderful addition to a family.
He enjoys all the classic dog activities like going to the dog park, playing fetch, and tug-of-war. When it comes to feline friends, gradual introductions on a leash are best to allow both Sparco and the cat to adjust. Without this, he can get overly excited and try to chase them. Sparco generally gets along well with other dogs, but he can be a little protective of his toys and treats. Slow introductions and careful management of resources are key to a successful integration into a multi-dog household. We're happy to arrange a meet-and-greet at the shelter to ensure a good first impression with your current dog(s). Sparco would do best in a home where there is always at least one person around to give him plenty of love and attention.
Ideal Home
Sparco would do well with a family that is home often and can provide him with plenty of love and attention. He needs gradual introductions to cats and careful management of resources if there are other dogs in the home.
Ongoing Health
Sparco is neutered.
Training & Support
Sparco can be timid at first and needs patience to open up. He can get too excited and try to chase cats if not introduced properly. He can also be protective over toys and treats, so slow introductions and resource management are important when integrating him with other dogs.
