FRECKLES (cc#7098)

Oh, Freckles is such a handsome boy! He came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but we're learning more about him every day. Freckles is eager to please and has mastered walking on a leash without pulling too much (though that can depend on the walker!). He's also learned to "sit" and "give paw" for treats, and we're currently working on "down." He's an active, strong dog who would do best with a family experienced with energetic and powerful dogs. Freckles is trying his best to be a good boy, and with consistent training, he'll make a wonderful companion. Given his strength and energy, an adult-only household might be the best fit. A family that enjoys long walks, hiking, and an active lifestyle would be perfect for him!

Ideal Home

An active household with a family experienced with strong, energetic dogs. An adult-only home is preferred.

Ongoing Health

Freckles was fully vetted upon arrival. He is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs about 68 lbs, though he's gained a few pounds since joining us. His Heartworm, Lyme, Fecal, and Giardia tests all came back negative. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on his Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations. He is also believed to be housebroken.

Training & Support

Freckles knows "sit" and "give paw" and is learning "down." He's learning to walk nicely on a leash. Consistency and ongoing training will help him continue to thrive.

Transporation

Freckles is located at the Township's Animal Control Facility (The Animal Shelter) at 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Additional hours may be available by appointment with animal control.
