About Penny Bun Mushroom
Penny Bun Mushroom is approximately seven months old and quite possibly one of the cutest little creatures to ever exist. We suspect she may be a Pit Bull/German Shepherd mix, though with rescue puppies, there's never any way to guarantee breed makeup. Whatever she is mixed with, though, clearly included sugar, sunshine, and emotional support stuffed animals. This sweet girl is affectionate from the very start and absolutely adores people. She happily accepted affection from everyone she met and naturally checked in with her handler constantly on walks, already showing surprisingly lovely leash manners for such a young puppy. In fact, calling it walking almost feels unfair because Penny Bun practically trots beside you like she has secretly been studying heel work in her free time. She's attentive, loving, and gives you those soft little eye contact moments that make you immediately start imagining matching holiday pajamas together.
And then there's the stuffy obsession. Penny Bun LOVES stuffed toys. Not in a chaotic destroy immediately way, but in a deeply emotional, "this is my support plushie and I must carry it everywhere" kind of way. She seems like exactly the type of puppy who will hear you pull into the driveway, panic with joy, grab her favorite toy, and proudly parade around the house holding it in her mouth while her whole body wiggles.
With other dogs, Penny Bun was submissive, social, and very respectful. She greeted dogs politely, shared affection well, and handled group play beautifully. She enjoyed running around and playing but wasn't overly rough or rowdy. When another dog became too overwhelming, Penny Bun simply rolled over submissively and bounced right back once the excitement passed. She showed lovely recovery skills and overall seemed easygoing and adaptable with the dogs she met. She also did very well meeting a cat. She approached politely, sniffed, and then calmly coexisted in the room without much concern. Penny Bun was also sweet and gentle meeting children. She has a soft, affectionate nature and seems to genuinely enjoy being close to her people. Combined with her medium energy level, calm demeanor indoors, and quiet personality during her time with us, we could potentially see her doing well in an apartment environment provided she continues getting appropriate mental and physical enrichment. One thing that really stands out about Penny Bun is how balanced she feels for a puppy. She's playful without being overwhelming, cuddly without being clingy, social without being chaotic. She has that soft, happy energy that makes people instantly fall in love with her. Add in the floppy puppy limbs, velvety fur, giant smile, and emotional support stuffy habit, and honestly, she feels less like a real dog and more like the main character in a children's movie about kindness. If you've been looking for a sweet, gentle, goofy little companion to grow up alongside your family, Penny Bun Mushroom may just be your perfect girl.
