Hazel

Hazel is a sweet and energetic 4-month-old pitbull mix who is ready to find her forever home! As a puppy, she has a lot of love to give and is eager to learn. She's been at our shelter since June 27, 2026, and is looking forward to settling into a loving family.

Ideal Home

Hazel would thrive in a home with an adopter who is committed to providing her with consistent training and socialization. She's a puppy, so she has lots of energy and needs an active environment. She is reported to be good with cats and children, though proper socialization is always recommended for puppies. She has also been reported to be good with other dogs, but a meet and greet is required.

Ongoing Health

Hazel has received a general veterinary check-up and is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, including distemper and rabies. She has also been treated for intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks, and is microchipped. As she is under six months old, she has not yet been tested for heartworm.

Training & Support

Hazel is a puppy and will need ongoing training for potty, crate, and leash manners. She will also benefit greatly from continued socialization in a home setting.

• Applications begin by contacting us through Wags.
• Adoptions are not first-come, first-served; we carefully select the best match for both the adopter and the pet.
• We require adopters to establish a relationship with a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption and follow a veterinary care plan.
• A $50 refundable deposit is required for spay/neuter surgery, which will be refunded upon proof of sterilization.

Transportation

Hazel is currently located at The Animal Rescue Project. We can arrange transport to the Wags adoption event.
