Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix. He currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Sentry and his family were rescued from a rural area outside of Houston, and he has grown up in a loving foster home. He wakes up every day with a positive outlook, ready for cuddles, play, and walks. Sentry loves people and other dogs and has been raised with his siblings and mother. He has done well with children and recently enjoyed meeting many people at a community event. Sentry is potty-trained and is continuing to learn leash skills and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued socialization to help him mature into a confident and well-rounded adult dog. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him, but we are open to homes without other dogs if you have a proactive plan for continued canine socialization. Due to his age, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
