Mr Kitten

Built like a tank but with a heart as squishy as a land manatee, this big blockhead is impossible not to love. Mr. Kitten has excellent leash manners and is wonderfully patient with newer volunteers—he’ll let beginners practice harnessing without a fuss. He’s calm and collected walking past kennels or other dogs, taking everything in stride with his signature mellow confidence. Under that handsome gray coat is the sweetest heart you’ll ever meet. Don’t let his size fool you: he’s a gentle giant through and through. On the leash, he’s a loose-leash pro; off the leash, he becomes the world’s cuddliest couch companion with plenty of surface area for snuggles. Kind, loving, and endlessly mellow, Mr. Kitten is the dog who wins people over instantly. Come meet him—your only regret will be not doing it sooner. He's rarely vocal, doesn't beg for food, allows bathing and grooming, he's potty trained, and he does well in crowds with screaming kiddos and music. He's a great car passenger and was fantastic with a 6-year-old niece.

Ideal Home

His ideal home would include a yard and maybe another dog friend, but he's happy anywhere he can be with his people.

Ongoing Health

Austin Animal Shelter tested him as heartworm positive, but Emancipet tested months later prior to treatment and said he was clear.

Training & Support

He has some separation anxiety, but this might be remedied with time and feeling secure. He may be okay with cats, but this requires time and close supervision for a while to be sure.
