Hi there, I'm Vega! I'm a 6-year-old, 70-pound, brindle and white boxer looking for a loving home where I can share all my adventurous spirit and enthusiasm. My foster mom says I'm an extremely loving, smart, and adventurous boy who enjoys playing, running, and exploring. I'm also very eager to please, especially if treats are involved! I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, so I'm all set to join your family. I have a lot of drive, which makes me super fun to work with, and I'd likely excel at dog sports because I love to work. I bond quickly and can't wait to make you my best friend! I love being petted and cuddled, and I'm a relatively quiet pup who calms down well once my exercise needs are met.
Ideal Home
I need a firm owner who will provide me with plenty of exercise and adventures, as I am definitely not a couch potato! I am dog selective and require slow introductions to other dogs. Due to my high prey drive, I should not be around cats or other small animals. I do well with kids, but a home with older children would be best given my size and energy level.
Ongoing Health
I am neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
I can be crate reactive and have some barrier frustration, but I'm making great progress and learning to improve my behavior. I also need more work on leash training, as I tend to pull hard. Tools like a gentle leader might help me learn to walk better.
