Collette

Meet Collette! This sweet Bichon girl found herself in our care after being surrendered from a commercial breeding facility. Collette's life until now has been incredibly difficult, as she was used as a "mill mama." She is currently quite shut down but is slowly beginning to place her trust in us. We are so excited about her progress and know she'll blossom into a wonderful companion for a very special family.

Ideal Home

Collette would thrive in a home that understands her past and can offer her the patience and time she needs to adjust to new people and surroundings. She absolutely adores other animals and would do best in a home with at least one other dog to help her feel more secure.

Training & Support

Collette is a puppy mill survivor, so everything in her new world will be new and potentially overwhelming – from people and houses to stairs, leashes, and even food bowls! Adopters will need to move slowly, be patient, and keep expectations reasonable. Positive reinforcement and a deep understanding are key to helping her grow into a confident and happy dog. The rewards of gaining the trust of a puppy mill survivor are immense, but it requires intentional effort and commitment.
