Morty Mello is a giant-headed marshmallow of a dog who has perfected the art of relaxing. He has the face of a teddy bear, the soul of a cozy throw pillow, and the personality of that friend who's always saying, "No rush, we'll get there when we get there." Everything about Morty feels easy. Being around him is easy. Loving him is easy. He's the kind of dog that makes you want to put on a movie, grab a blanket, and spend the rest of the afternoon doing absolutely nothing together. Morty is believed to be a pittie mix, approximately 6 years old and weighing 75 lbs. He is as gentle as they come and is dog friendly. He enjoys sunbathing and doing his own thing in the yard. While not super playful, he is unbothered by other dogs playing around him and is happy to observe.
Ideal Home
Morty would do best with another dog about his size that shares his cool, calm, and collected outlook on life. A doggy friend that isn't looking for a wrestling partner and is more interested in relaxing alongside him would be ideal. If you don't have another dog, that's perfectly fine too, as Morty is content with human companionship. He would also do best in a kitty-free home. Morty would love a home with a backyard where he can sunbathe, roll around in the grass, and investigate smells. He could also do well in an apartment as he is quiet in his crate and walks beautifully on leash.
Ongoing Health
Morty is a rescue dog, and while we cannot guarantee breed or age, he is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. He will receive a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable before adoption.
Training & Support
Morty has wonderful house manners and is fully potty trained. He makes an excellent work-from-home companion, a lazy Sunday movie marathon date, and an easygoing buddy for leisurely neighborhood strolls. He is a simple dog who doesn't ask for much.

- Adoption fee is $1200, which includes all vetting, transport, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.
- Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
Transportation
Morty is currently in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time and receive photo updates. There is an $87 surcharge for transportation due to rising costs.
