Louie is a handsome two-year-old gentleman with a coat of striking color. He came to us as a stray and, sadly, was never claimed. Louie is a bundle of energy and playfulness with our staff, though he sees the leash as a fun challenge and likes to play a bit rough. We believe this playful exuberance stems from a dominance issue, and he would truly benefit from one-on-one training to help him refine his leash manners and overall behavior. Louie is diligently working on his skills and would love to meet you to show you his progress! He's a clean boy in his kennel, especially for his age, and shows a curious spirit when exploring his surroundings. Louie is fast and loves to run, making him a spirited companion. We don't have any information about his history with children, dogs, or cats, so we'll be looking for a home that can help him learn how to interact with them.
Ideal Home
Louie would thrive in a home that can provide him with consistent training and positive reinforcement to help him manage his playful energy and leash skills. Due to his boisterous play style, a home without very young children or small animals might be best until he has had more one-on-one training.
Ongoing Health
Louie is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Louie enjoys playtime but can be rough, viewing the leash as a game. He would benefit greatly from dedicated one-on-one training to address what we believe to be dominance issues and to improve his leash manners. We recommend several visits to the shelter to meet and work with Louie before adoption to help ensure a successful transition into his new home.
