Diggie Doodlebug is an 11 lb Shih Tzu mix, estimated to be around 4 years old. He looks like a tiny, scruffy muppet with a button nose and tiny paws. Diggie is a very smart and lovable dog with a lot of personality once he feels comfortable. He's playful, enjoys digging through dog beds, and bonds deeply with his people. He especially loves children and would thrive in a home with them. Diggie has also been known to do well with calm, easygoing dogs after slow introductions and lives successfully with cats. Diggie is a sensitive soul and can be a bit reserved in new environments or with new people. However, even when stressed, he remains soft-tempered. Once he trusts you, he can handle a busy lifestyle and enjoys going on adventures. Diggie is a "relationship-first" dog, meaning he needs time to settle in and build trust before showing his true, funny, and loving self.
Ideal Home
A home with children would be ideal for Diggie. He would also do well with calm, easygoing dogs if introduced slowly. He needs a secure yard as he is not yet leash-trained and is still building confidence with walking outside.
Ongoing Health
Diggie's health is up to date. All vetting is included in the adoption fee.
Training & Support
Diggie is not currently leash trained and continues to practice with his foster. Crates are also stressful for him, and his foster does not currently use one, sharing that he is trustworthy in the home. He is a relationship-first dog and needs time to settle in at his own pace.
