About Craiggey / Jojo

Jojo My name is JoJo and I'm looking for you! My foster papa, Uncle Pablo, has been calling me widdle/willow as I'm itty bitty girl weighing in at just 39lbs. I'm somewhere between 1 - 3 years old...my teeth are clean and my eyes are shine like gold.

I was dumped on a deserted Texas highway and Mile High Lab Mission did some magic to get me here to Colorado.

I'm a mild mannered, shy little girl but I warm up so fast! I'll stick by your side or your feet most of the day...unless you leave some dirty socks laying out and I'll run them through the doggie door and have myself a little zooomie time! It's hilarious! I know how to entertain myself outside if you're busy working. I'm calm and reserved. I like to observe rather than make noise. I haven't barked once yet...even when Mr. Nico is barking at the window....”Get off my Lawn”. He's silly

I'm fully house trained as I haven't had one accident at Uncle Pablo's(foster Papa) I find the crate warm and comforting and if I'm over the day you might find I've tucked myself in. I will sleep through the entire night without a peep. f you let me snuggle in bed I'll be the happiest widdle girl.

I haven't met a dog I didn't like and I sure would like to meet many more. Cora and I wrestled for hours this morning and it was so fun! I'm an amazing patio girl and I love brunching in the sun. I even went to the river and had a blast bouncing up and down in the water. I guess I'm a water dog!

I've had decent training it seems as I know come and go. Sit is still little iffy cause I get nervous when you tell me orders and I'll back myself up. I'm so smart and will be so trainable...but honestly, I'm the easiest little girl. Uncle Pablo says so

Story | We don't know the whole story, but Jojo was found dumped on a rural Texas road where other dogs have been dumped - no food, no identification, just a dog alone to fend for herself. How could this beautiful Lab girl be dumped, we have no idea, but fortunately for Jojo a kind person found her and got her safely into rescue and a foster home in Texas. JoJo is settling in perfectly and she loves Colorado.

Other Dogs | Jojo loves other dogs. Jojo's foster home has other dogs (big and small). She loves to play and another dog in the home to play with will help her get excess energy out. Plus, it's just good fun! :)

Cats | Unsure.

Children | Not currently living with children, but respectful kids should be fine.

Training | According to Jojo's foster family in Texas, Jojo is excellent in a crate. Even goes in there to nap during the day on her own with the door open. Sleeps through the night. She is potty trained. She will go to our door when she wants to go outside. She even went out the dog door by herself once after I trained her on it a bit. Rides in the car like a dream. Will just lay down and nap. Her foster has snapped and pointed on many occasions to a spot he wants her and Jojo goes there. She is so eager to please!

Leash | Jojo wears a harness and is good on leash.

Activity Level | She runs around (Zoomies) in the yard and she's FAST!! Jojo would love to have a doggie sibling in the home to play with and romp in the yard. Since Jojo needs to be treated for heartworms, that treatment does require a period of time with restricted/low activity, so Jojo's adopter will need to adjust activity during that time. But after treatment, Jojo can resume her play, walks, and zoomies.

Health Notes | Jojo is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians, and has already started her treatment process. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet gal!

Thank you! |

Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $750 per dog).

Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file.

Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.

We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
