Meet Elsie, a delightful yellow Lab mix with a heart as big as her personality. At approximately 3.5 years old and 50 pounds, Elsie is a bundle of joy looking for an active family to share her zest for life. She's a unique girl who hops like a bunny when excited and pounces on tennis balls with playful determination. Car rides are a favorite adventure, and she's always ready for a new escapade. Elsie also takes her neighborhood watch duties seriously, keeping an eye out for any scurrying creatures.
Ideal Home
Elsie needs an active family who can keep up with her energy and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard with a 6-foot rabbit-proof fence is a must, as she's an athletic jumper! Elsie enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with a calm, easygoing canine companion who can handle her enthusiastic play style. However, due to her high prey drive, she cannot live with cats or small dogs. Elsie also prefers not to share her toys, so managing playtime with other dogs is recommended. While she is wonderful with children, her boisterous enthusiasm means she could accidentally knock over very small children, so a home with older, sturdy children would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Elsie is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has been spayed. She is microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
Training & Support
Elsie is crate trained but has a knack for escaping standard kennels, so she'll need a sturdy, "no-break" kennel for when she's home alone. She is approximately 85% potty trained and continues to make progress, benefiting from continued positive reinforcement. Elsie is highly food motivated and eager to learn, already showing great progress with commands like "heel" and "stay." Her ideal family will be patient and committed to continuing her training and helping her understand her own enthusiastic strength.

Transportation
Elsie is currently located in the Twin Cities area. We prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius, but will consider up to 250 miles with foster agreement and staff approval.
