Meet Ivan, the Iconic, a year-and-a-half-old, 50-pound goofball who looks like he walked straight out of a dog-themed rom-com. He's all wiggly enthusiasm, silly charm, and sweet, squishy pittie/staffy-mix good looks, complete with giant radar-dish ears that make him look like a cute little deer when he's curious. Ivan LOVES life and toys of all kinds, and he proudly body-checks his favorite herding ball like a pro athlete. He thinks fetch is the greatest game ever, though he may occasionally decide to keep the toy for himself. He also loves water and will happily chomp at the hose like he's starring in a summer splash commercial. Ivan is a sweet, affectionate boy who warms up quickly. He might be a little aloof at first, but once he bonds with you, he melts into you like warm cookie dough, eager for belly rubs, snuggles, and will even try to crawl into your lap despite his size. He is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training fun and rewarding.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female dog who likes to play but can also set boundaries. He needs a feline-free home as he thinks cats are fun little sprinting targets and would 100% chase them for sport. He would be wonderful with older children who won't get knocked over during his zoomies, as he is gentle and loving. He could learn to give littles space with time. Ivan will thrive with a yard to burn energy, an active adopter, and someone who enjoys training and play with clear boundaries and routine.

Training & Support
Ivan LOVES other dogs and is the party starter of the play yard, but he's still learning how to read the room. He can get a little too excited with playful dogs, but with a little guidance, he happily takes breaks and checks in. He responds well to his people or other dogs telling him to take a break. He can be a bit much for mellow or insecure dogs, as he's just a big, bouncy boy. Ivan is treat-motivated and eager to learn, which makes helping him polish his manners fun and rewarding.

Ivan is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You can track their journey in real time and receive photo updates. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area. There is an $87 surcharge for transportation.
