Handsome Jack

Handsome Jack is an approximately 12-18-month-old, 35 lb, neutered male Whippet mix with magnificent ears and a truly fantastic temperament! He was found as a stray on a large ranch and was thankfully rescued from a crowded shelter by PAWHI, who then found him a foster home. In his foster home, Jack has excelled at learning to be a great companion. He's mastered house-training, crate-training, and leash-training. He's comfortable with handling, takes treats gently, and has shown no behavioral issues like resource guarding. Jack is social and friendly with dogs and people, including young children. He is initially a bit timid with men, but with a little time and gentle introductions, he warms up. He has not been evaluated with cats. This sweet and soft boy is sure to bring joy to his new family.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced yard is required for Handsome Jack to safely explore and play. He also thrives with a companion animal, so a home with a friendly dog would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Handsome Jack is neutered and up-to-date on core vaccinations. He has had a recent health check with a veterinarian.

Training & Support

Jack has shown great progress in his foster home, mastering house-training, crate-training, and leash-training. He is gentle when taking treats and has no known behavioral issues like resource guarding. While he is initially timid with men, he is social and friendly overall. Consistent, gentle introductions and positive reinforcement will help him continue to build confidence.
