Hook

Hook is a big-hearted, affectionate boy who loves being close to his people. He leans his whole body into you when he wants attention, absolutely loves belly rubs, and is happiest when he has a soft, squeaky plush toy to carry around. He also enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war and knows basic cues like sit and lay down. Hook is a smart, sensitive dog who finds the shelter environment overwhelming, so he's currently on medication to help with kennel stress.

Ideal Home

Hook's ideal home is a calm, structured environment where he can decompress, settle into a routine, and show his true personality. He will thrive with a confident, consistent, and experienced dog owner who enjoys building a bond through training and giving him clear guidance. In a previous home, Hook reportedly did better with men than women, and he will need a home without small children. He is good with cats, but we have not yet tested him directly with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Hook is currently on medication to help with kennel stress.

Training & Support

Hook will benefit from continued work on leash manners and does best walking in a harness.
