About Lola : The Tragic Story of a Mama Dog

At just 2 years old, Lola is a sweet and gentle lab mix who has already overcome so much. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston with her newborn puppies. Even while caring for her babies, she showed nothing but trust and kindness. Sadly, her puppies were quickly taken from her, and Lola found herself at risk. However, her calm, loving, and easygoing nature made her a staff favorite, and she was able to get help to leave the shelter.

Lola's foster family described her as "the best dog in the universe." She is quiet, well-mannered, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle. She settles beautifully into home life and simply enjoys being near her people. She currently lives with another dog and young children, and she does wonderfully with both. Lola's fosters allowed her to roam freely with their toddlers and she was best friends with their medium-sized pup. However, they discovered that Lola does not do well with very tiny animals. She has been in boarding for the last two months, where the staff adore her and find her to be an extremely smart and obedient pup. Lola weighs around 45 pounds, making her a perfect medium-sized companion. She has a calm and gentle presence that would fit beautifully into almost any home.

Ideal Home

Lola would thrive in a home where she can be close to her people. She has done well with other dogs and young children. However, she does not do well with very tiny animals. A fully fenced yard is a must; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Lola is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is kept on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Lola is described as obedient and well-mannered. She is a smart pup who is ready to find her person.
