Ernie

Ernie is a neutered, 8-year-old male Pittie/Cattle Dog mix, weighing around 63lbs. He's a goofy, chill, yet playful gentleman who was found as a stray and, despite being microchipped, his previous owner did not want him back. Ernie was clearly loved in his past life and is a true gem who is eager to find his forever home. He's great with all humans and animals he's met, including dogs of all sizes, and is even happy to let his smaller foster sibling boss him around. He shows interest in cats but not aggressively, and is expected to be fine with feline friends who don't mind a friendly greeting. While he hasn't been around children, his gentle nature suggests he'd enjoy a family, provided they're aware he's a bigger dog. Ernie is house-trained and walks well on a leash, always wanting to be by your side.

Ideal Home

Ernie would thrive in any home and would be a great fit for kids, homes with or without other pets, an older couple, or even a first-time dog owner.

Ernie is heartworm negative.

Ernie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He does not enjoy crates and will try to escape, but he is not destructive when left unsupervised. He may whine or howl for a few minutes when crated and knows you are home, but he calms down with a treat or verbal commands.
