Athena (URGENT)

My name is Athena, and I've been waiting for my forever home for three long years. I'm a "Bully" breed mix, and while my past wasn't the kindest, I'm ready to show you just how much love I have to give. I arrived at Lodi Animal Services as a stray, and sadly, my previous owners didn't want me back. They had bred me many times before, and once I was no longer useful for profit, they left me behind. For four years, I was neglected and used solely for breeding.

Thankfully, I've been in a foster home where I'm learning what it's like to be truly loved. I now live inside a warm house and get all the proper nutrition. I love to cuddle and spend time on the couch, and I have the cutest "motorcycle bark" that sounds like an engine flooding. I can be a little shy at first, especially around new people, but with kindness and treats, I warm up quickly and become incredibly sweet.

Ideal Home

I do best with female humans. While I can warm up to male humans with patience, I might be a little shy initially. When meeting new dogs, I can be a bit of a handful, but I do well with slow introductions to calm, very submissive male dogs. I also think I'd be very happy as the only dog, as I can get into mischief with canine friends!

Ongoing Health

I've been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I'm all ready to go!

Training & Support

I'm crate trained, know basic commands, and walk well on a leash, though I get very excited about it. I'm generally a chill couch potato, just looking for a loving home to finally relax in.
